British Chambers of Commerce call for action in 2014 Budget

The Coalition Government is releasing its next annual Budget on 19 March 2014. This is one of its final opportunities before the next general election to make a real effort to tackle youth unemployment.

This is why we welcome the recent call from the British Chambers of Commerce for the Government to take include measures in the Budget to address youth unemployment and training. The Government cannot wait any longer to take real action to address youth unemployment – although it is now falling, it remains at around 20% (19.9%) and young people are still nearly three times more likely to be unemployed than members of the workforce as a whole.
