UK has fastest rise of youth unemployment in G8 since start of recession

Today brings a timely reminder of why we are doing this – a report from the Work Foundation found that the UK has experienced the fastest rise in youth unemployment of any country in the G8 since the start of the recession, and now has the third worst level of youth unemployment in the OECD. This is not just an economic issue – Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands and Australia have all maintained consistently low levels of youth unemployment despite the economic downturn.
