Despite the fact we have only been going a matter of months we have already had many young people come forward and volunteer to help us. Our current committee members range from a female engineering graduate with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, to a former recruiter who is now the lead Policy and PR Advisor on Youth Employment for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation – the representative and trade body for recruiters.
We have also had a number of more recent volunteers coming forward. Just yesterday we took on two new very talented and passionate volunteers – one a teaching assistant in a state comprehensive school, the other a graduate management trainee at a local council.
All of these brilliant young people – many of whom have experienced youth unemployment first-hand or who have seen it happen to their friends – are helping us and will continue to help us a huge amount.
When this campaign was first set up we decided it would be a youth-led campaign, run by young people for young people. This vision has been and is being realised, and we are very hopeful for the future of the organisation.
